So I took the car to the dealer today to have the sunroof leak and headliner damage looked at. Early morning they called said they cleaned the stains, but they did not look like water damage. They were unable to reproduce a leak. I explained what happened (vehicle parked on slight decline, nose down over the weekend and it rained heavily) they said they will check the drains. Next call back I was told the rear drains were clear, what about the front ones? Sir this car only has rear drains, that's why the water didn't drain. LMFAO Are you telling me that Ford designed a car that has to be parked ass down in the rain to ensure water drainage? I suggested the someone was lying and that the car did In fact have drains in the front as they are clearly visible. If the tech didn't know about the front drains he's not qualified to work on my car! The same service rep tried to tell me that my iPhone 3GS might not be supported with the new MFT software. In fact There is a chip in the car specifically to ensure compatibility, as per a conversation with a MFT rep at the call centre. I hate being lied to, if it's not bad enough that I have had so many problems with the car. I think the customer service is worse, I don't want any one in the service department to know me by name because I'm there so much! Between MFT issues and sw upgrades, front springs twice replaced, transmission upgrades x2, passive entery issues, module hanging down around gas pedal, and now the sunroof...what next. They still have the car and will try again tomorrow, can't wait for the phone call.

Sounds like you need to start brushing up on lemon laws in your state.

2012 Moon Roof Leak

I'm having the same problem and having some difficulty getting the problem corrected. The glass was replaced and it still leaks. It has been adjusted and readjusted and still leaks. I'm taking it in again next week and hoping for a better result.

Not much roof to begin with thus the sunroof is a bit small but I like it and the wind noise at hwy speeds is surprisingly low compared to my 4Runner.

Very true. Warranties are provided, as are extended warranties - which one should always get for a car... even under the most ideal, most ethical, and most customer-conscientious conditions it's true that problems CAN happen. Which is not to say "just build it like (bleep) and get 'em to wring the customers out of more money", of course, as ethics is a two-way street...

it's interesting u write what u did... i find that my '12 open sunroof at speed is far noiser than the one in my '01 focus.

As for the roof size,,, i just measured and it's the same give or take a few tenths of an inch for both the civic and the focus sedan... hmmmm....

TiPilot - I would sure like to know how you got Ford to honor that warranty. So far, all I am getting is the run around. It is really disappointing dealing with the Ford Customer Service Regional Manager that just repeats what the service manager told her.

Hmm, I really didn't have any issues. The seal was literally melting/disintegrating and I basically took it to the dealer the same day it happened and told them to fix it, ASAP.

I can't understand why any dealer wouldn't immediately fix yours but if that's the case, you should probably try to find a new dealer. I switched to a new one myself after getting tired of the first dealer's leaves-much-to-be-desired service department.

As I've mentioned in another thread, I'll be looking into this as soon as possible. Do you have a preferred servicing dealer?

Please submit any feedback about the moonroof here: http://social.ford.com/. I would like a massive one; big enough to fit an engine through it. Have you had your dealer check it out, cobie56? If not, please PM me your VIN, mileage, phone number, and dealer info; I'll escalate this with your Customer Service Manager.

Extended warranties are very useful. Our PremiumCARE Extended Service Plan covers over 500 parts and delivers great peace of mind. See how it stacks up against our other great plans: http://owner.ford.com/servlet/Conten...ESPWizardStep1.

Thanks for offering some advice, TiPilot! How's the new seal holding up?
