For you joesperformance.
Everyone starts in the Rookie Class for their first 4 events. It will get you into knowing what you can do and how to run the courses through the Rookie setup. And alot of the instructors there will help you. Once you are in the know, then you can see what mods you have to put you in what class. The first class would be H-Stock. Which is the stock class. Pretty much All stock car, but you can have 1 sway bar ... choose back or front, you can have adjustable shocks BUT stock springs and you can have race tires on STOCK WHEELS. So sticky Hoosiers are allowed. But that is it. No Engine mods ... not even the Air Intake. Next class for us focus peeps is the ST-F class. ST stands for Street Tire, F is the division of our weight and engine displacement combo to keep matters fair. In this class, you can do Bolt Ons. Meaning, Air intake, Headers, Motor Mounts, Springs and shocks, Short Throw Shifter, Tune ... etc. BUT NO FI (Force Induction) or internal engine mods. Also you can not take out your interior of your car to lose weight. Also can't have sticky race tires here. ST is for 140 thread wear or better. After that class, you go to SM class. Which stands for Street Modified. So this is the class where you can add the Forced Induction, an LSD and have weight deduction like the back seats deleted. BUT you can not add a roll cage. If you add a Roll Cage and change up everything to the car you then go to SP class. Street Prepared. There is also an STX class ... anything goes here. You can roll your car with almost no body panels if you wanted and can race here. That's the basic break down. But none of us would be past the SM class here and most of us fit in the ST-F class. Which at the moment ... the focuses dominate. That is until someone from the new VWs or Fiesta groups learn that they fit in our class as well. Then the competition will get fierce. There is a good racer in our Houston division that has bought himself a Mazda2 ... and don't knock it, given the right driver and mods ... he can dominate. He isn't doing it yet, but give the man time. When I get my car back up in good running order ... I will be back. But until then. I sit and wait. -Ray-

That's Awesome Matt! Nice to see the focus showing people whats up, also scary to think the 2012's are that good out the box (thinking of Austin's when he first started) and that much better with suspension.

Next up on the mod list is BETTER TIRES, engine torque mount and stiffen the front with a better sway bar. When a tune is available I would like to do that as well.

I would leave the front sway bar last. And get a stiff rear bar. Help that back end rotate faster.
Tires are always a great start. But stick to what you have. It seems to be working for you right now. -Ray-
