Not quite, it's meant to illuminate the ground around the car so you can see if there is anything in the way, by making a puddle of light around the mirror and the door. They illuminate at night when you unlock the car as you approach it.

I suppose that the real questions are:
What is the LED bulb designation for the replacement
And: Are they brighter than the stock bulbs

Additionally - Can I get a much brighter output for the same wattage - I want
Are there colors that I can choose from?

168/194 Wedge base LED

Yes, they are brighter and use less power than the OEM bulbs.

There are multiple types and colors to choose from. My city lights and mirror signals are hyper-white, puddle lamps were red then later hyper-white, hatch lights were hyper-white then 15smd red.

P.S.- The video of doing them without removing the mirror is awesome and I wish I would have thought to try that first.

I imagine it helps to have small hands.

Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 using FF Mobile.

OK - thank you. I wasn't sure if 360 degree was what was appropriate.

I have 360 in mine, they are just 5smd-

Mine measured out the same as their specs, so there's no reason that they shouldn't work.

Also, I just tried the non-mirror removal and it definitely works. For those that have plus-sized fingers like myself, you may want to use a set of needle-nose pliers to carefully pull them out and set them back in place
