Running/alarm lights flash by themselves periodically

01 Focus ZTS. Has one of the horn looking alarms on it when I got it. Disabled immobilizer and did the "fob works when running mod" (although I'm fairly sure its not related to them)
Every so often I find my hazard/alarm/running lights flashing buy themselves. I know for a fact that I didn't hit the fob as I was hours away from the car today to find them flashing and a mostly dead battery upon returning to it.
Anyone ever heard of this before? I heard from one guy that his did that and he was told it does it when the battery gets low...but that doesn't make a lick of sense to me. I have not disabled/disconnected the horn looking thing on the top of the motor yet although its on a to do list for when the Minnesota weather warms up this spring. Any ideas/thoughts would be welcomed. Couldn't find any model car doing this through Google searches let alone the Foci
