OEM Service Manual

Years ago, I purchased an oem service manual for my 98 cavalier. It was allegedly the same one the pros used. I've searched for a similar manual for our 2012 Focus but haven't found one. Not that I'm having problems, but I'd like to see all the wiring diagrams and other stuff that was in my cavalier manual. Is it just too early for this to be available, or is everything computerized now?

Alan

I think it's just too soon. I would expect to see the 2012 model year manuals come out next year.

The closest you might find outside of being a dealer or service technician is through the helm inc website. I think they have a dvd or cd available, although you'd want the one specifically for the focus and not the rest of the models as that one is quite a bit more expensive. I think they also do web access for certain periods of time.

I've heard 2-3 years for the shop manuals to be released.

I tried the online version through Helm for a few days just to look up stuff out of curiosity. It was cheap, something like $15 (or thereabouts) for 72-hours of access. Works pretty well, although it takes a browser plug-in or two.

Probably be a few years for the paper version. Interesting reading though and as I recall you could buy a few days, weeks, months, years of access depending on what you need.

www.motorcraftservice.com you can buy a subscription for 3 days as low as 11 bucks.. all the way up to years at a time.. It also gives access to OASIS and if you buy the VCM thing and download the IDS software, you can connect your car to your laptop and it will interact with OASIS just like the dealerships do... the entire manual is available there and you can print off pages, or the whole thing.. LOL I printed the entire manual as PDF and saved to my computer, if i need something i print off only what i need when needed...

How did you print the entire manual? I have gotten into the system, but it is organized with a rather extensive table of contents. I think I would have to go into each page and print-to-pdf individually.
