Focus Paint Cost

So came back to my car at the mall parking lot and found a scratch on my focus :(. About 5 inches long, not very thick but its white (stands out on my grey focus). Anyways, I have touch up paint from Ford, so i used it according to the directions, but the scratch line is still there (the grey shines in the sun and the light reflects differently on the scratch). I also found that the grey OEM paint doesn't quite match the exact color/shade of the sterling grey, anyone else experience that or is it usually bang on?

Anyways, never cared to do any body work on my last cars, I tried some generic scratch kits and didnt really make much of a different. Anyone have any experience getting the door panel painted to match the car? Is aftermarket vs dealer going to make that big a difference (im assuming with the paint code the respray should be the same)? Anyone know approximately how much it will cost to paint just the door?

Im going to see if i can ignore it for now, just trying to get some advice/pricings if i do decide to do it. Thanks

I should clarify and say the white scratch is from the scratch going deep into the paint, and not because it was hit by a white car

If you take it to a body shop as long as you've seen their work and its good they should be able to help you out. A recent insurance claim for me was $600 in paint for the inside and outside of the hood (dent repair was $700)

If the cars are all clean and the shop is clean its a decent shop.

Oh the cost was $1250.I believe.I had a police report so it was no fault insurance wise.
(mine involved body work yours will just be prep and paint)

I had 2 doors slightly creased.I took it to a well known shop here in town.If its done right all hardware will be removed so the paint goes underneath and no tape lines. They also blend the paint about 1/2 way into the next panel incase it is not a perfect match.finally the clear coat is reactivated so it blends in perfect. My job was flawless.Btw I feel your pain
