Personally, I think I will be cutting the back housing to open it up, I tried the baking one in the oven and that wasn't successful... I'm thinking about painting/blacking out the chrome reflector around the Projectors and blacking out the chrome parts to make it look like the Ti headlight but leave the chrome around the High Beam too. I don't think I'll do any LED/LED strips in mine because I don't plan to ever open up the housing in the future to repair or replace anything... lol

I'm torn between the Morimoto H1 and D2S projectors though... it seems like the D2S ones are slightly smaller in overall dimensions, but would fit exactly the same... Wouldn't a D2S bulb be better in terms of light output and replicating an "OEM" approach?

morimoto mini h1 w/ gatling shrouds fit without modification. h1 bulbs fit more easily than d2s bulbs. run h1.

Really between the two there are no difference. Check out this thread: http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...H1-vs-Mini-D2S

I would stick with the H1's I have an older version and they have done real well. Hid bulbs are easy to get for these two and I believe the 50w ballast are finally available with the H1's.


P.s. You will enjoy the projectors, a very good wide beam.

Good luck! Are you doing exactly what he is doing or changing it around a bit?
I'll paint everything but the high beam reflector black. I have a titanium so that's a good start. Not sure on the led parking lights. Looks a little too involved for me lol. I would just buy the headlights from china, but historically the projectors in those lights are crap. I want a projector made specifically for HID and a clear lens. Not worth doing the retro without those if you ask me.

TRS just posted some Matchbox projectors on their FB page. 120$ a pair w/ shroud.

I don't think they would look that good. Depends on how they fill in. Now the yellow bulbs look good in the fog lights.
