I don't use screwdrivers. I use a thin sharp knife. Bake time and patience is critical.

Shin - you're my hero - thanks for all the pics - this is very helpful and that's what most of us are looking for when trying to attempt these things!!

I actually purchased a Hot Knife soldering pen from Ebay the other day because I've been thinking about going this route for my retrofit - so I may want to consider the other tips to help me put everything back together.

And big thanks for Craigsfocus for breaking into this and cracking the can open!! :D

One word... BEAUTIFUL. Great job and thanks for the additional tips!

I gotta say, Craigsfocus may not have added all the tiny details, but to me, that's okay - He did the most important thing, and that was planting the bug in our ears and showing us that it could be done... the rest is up to us and whether or not we're brave enough to jump off that cliff!

This tool is right. remember you also need a rounded tip when you melt back plastic. I used this one with good results:

Haven't done mine personally although I have a set of projectors right now. I've done many other cars though, most of them with thinner (read delicate) lenses and thicker glue.

Really want to do this, but sucks we can't just bake the headlamps to get into them.

Some people did bake theirs to get into them. Not me. It just takes lots of scraping and many times in oven
