Question dash/trim piece removal

Anyone know how to remove this piece of the dashboard/trim piece? Trying to come up with a way to make a GPS mount. I've tired the Proclip ones but don't like them and using the suction cup windshield mount, well ..... sucks.

I can't help you, but I'm interested to see what you come up with. I ended up buying the small Garmin friction mount for my nuvi, and I'm happy with it but I'd like to see something a bit less temporary.

It should just pop off, you may have to give it a good tug, but it will come. Don't worry, once you pop that cherry, it'll be easier next time.

I have the proclip dash mount but don't like looking away from the road to look at it. Also seems to be in a position right where the sun hits the screen (no matter how I swivel it) and bleeds out the display. I also tried the left pillar mount but didn't seem to fit good. May be a problem with my pillar piece on the left side. Slightly bad mold maybe, I see there's a slight warp where it meets the windshield. Don't like suction cup mounts either because it leaves a circular spot on the windshield when it's removed and also hard to reach when driving. So just thinking up some ways to perhaps make my own mount over the left vent. Thinking something like an L shaped bracket that comes from the side of the dash over the left vent. There's a slight gap between the door and the left dash when the door is closed so I'm wondering if maybe I could attach it where that trim piece is which is why I was wondering if it could be removed.

i used this in my 04

https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=1370

its just a sticky mount but gets the job done, no need for a bracket, and the tape wont leave a mark. I plan on doing the same with the new focus and hardwiring the power cable.

Well I have the round adhesive disk which I could mount and then put the windsheild/suction cup mount on. I have a few ideas. I would like to mount it near the left pillar rather on top of the dash in the middle. I'll come up with something!

Heh another person from Rochester. :)

Off topic, I know there's that meet in Syracuse. How many of us do you think we could get together for a Buffalo/Rochester meet?
