2008-2011 Haynes Manual

Hey guys, spoke with the Haynes Manual company asking when we would get a book. Here is the response

Dear Sir:

Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate all correspondence from our customers, since it helps us produce the finest do-it-yourself manuals available.

Although we do not yet have a manual published for your year vehicle, we are planning to produce one. Please check back with us in October, 2012, we will have more details on the next schedule of manuals we will be working on. Hopefully it will be on the list. You can also check our website for availability at www.haynes.com <http://www.haynes.com/>; .

Again, thank you for your interest in Haynes automotive/motorcycle manuals!

Best regards,

Technical Research

Lets hope we are on the next list!

Wow, so even if they do bother to produce a manual for a car that was only in production for 3 years, they're going to be nearly 5 years late.

It has to be late, they aren't going to make a manual the first year something is out. Then it becomes a pain in the ass for revisions, model changes and every year they have to print new books with the new years on it.

Example, first year 2008 ford focus
next year they have to redo the titles and ship them out to stores to replace old ones 2008-2009 ford focus.

So if they wait till the generation is over (now) they can do a complete one and be done with it.

They are great to have and I buy one for every vehicle I have/had

It takes 20 weeks for two Haynes authors to disassemble a vehicle, assemble it, test it for problems, and write the manual.

By your logic, the manual should have been published in late 2010.

All I'm saying is don't hold your breath.

The 2000-2007 guide is plenty accurate for our cars anyway. The major differences are in styling and electronics.

I'll be purchasing one later this year(=
They are pretty solid about following through if a customer shows interest.

As for them making it by late 2010 I do not agree.
OP you are correct about them waiting for the generation to be finished and october 2012 sounds accurate. They generally wait till mostly all of the cars have been sold from the dealerships and then wait a year or so.
It wouldn't make sense for them to make a repair manual for a car generation that they know ends in 2011 a year prior.
Im sure they were in communication with FORD and planned to wait until after the car is off the new market, especially since repair manuals for a brand new car is kind of "eh" due to the fact that alot of them are either still under warranty or do not have any issues yet.
Right about now 2012-2013 is when a repair manual would be released.

By that logic, how did I buy a 1994-2004 Mustang guide in 2004?

Magic?

It was produced for 4 years, 08, 09, 10, 11. Perhaps 1,000,000 were produced. We have a very popular car, of course they are going to produce a manual. Besides, it is so similar to the 05-07 model years, it does not have huge research cost to produce!

2008 Ford Focus

PS. I have been thinking of starting a new thread about what we love about our 08-11 focus and some aspects, in my opinion, that are superior to the 12 model (excluding SEL and TItanium models). I have some strong opinions to share. What do you guys think?
