MSD Coilpack

Any info on how an msd coil pack will benefit my St 170 and is it worth the upgrade

It wont and it isnt

I am tuning a ST170 with a powerworks kit and it is going well so tuning yours may be something we can do , this would be your biggest gain

The MSDs are the best coil packs IMO. You'll get much better spark than stock with it allowing better and more even burn. Performance wise not really noticeable.

By far the most bang for the buck is a tune. I've seen more from my tune than all my other mods combined. A HP here and there with nickel and dime mods is not the way to go IMHO. A tune and going FI are your best gains for the cash. Quite honestly Tom is the Guy to talk to on these cars. Just do some reading/studying. Just know that something's you read may not be so. But once you have some general knowledge on these cars and some experience you'll see what works and what doesn't.

Let me finish with the ST170 with the Powerworks on it and make sure there are no glitches , one thing we found is you will have to have a English version software of the datalogger wont work properly

Another problem is SCT has discontinued the LiveWire and say the xcal3 can no longer be used on the SVT so trying to find out what to use on the SVT now

Tom
