Rusted flexpipe nut

Hey guys, I'm working on removing the stock exhaust for a fswerks exhaust. I've reached the point where I need to remove the bolts from the stock exhaust connected to the flexpipe but they're both so rusted they look like they're welded in. I stripped one nut trying to get it off to no avail. Any tips on removing these two bolts? This is my first big car mod. Thanks!

I used a dremel with a cutting disc. A sawzall will work but tough to use in that area.

I have a dremel so this could work nicely.

How hard is it to get the sockets on? I read somewhere that you had to really hammer it on to get a good grip.

I have a FSWerks exhaust coming tomorrow, im worried about the rusted bolts too. I've already bought the PB blaster this weekend, I just hope i dont have anything thats so seized I have to cut the bolts or get those special sockets. I think im going to hit the bolts with PB blaster today and then again before I tackle the job tomorrow.

Does the fswerk exhaust come with new hardware olearious or are you going to have to get new bolts (any idea of the size if thats the case?) Also, what did you use to cut off the old exhaust? I'm debating on buying a cheap knock off sawzall from harbor frieght (local) or just going at it with a hack saw.

The exhaust comes off fairly easy once all the bolts are off so I'd try it that way first. If it makes you mad then whatever is more fun. Destruction is my favorite part of a project.

I'm actually in the middle of replacing my manifold, cat, and flex pipe with an SVT set up and getting the flex pipe separated from the exhaust has been the hardest part. I used an angle grinder and cut the bolts off but they're still rusted in there haha. So after this I'm going out to drill them out.

The exhaust doesn't come with replacement bolts for the flex pipe so I'm going to need to pick up some. Mine are so rusted I cant even see threads anymore. I used a sawzall to cut the old pipe. The first time my blade wasn't long enough to clear the pipe which caused some problems. Once I had the right blade though I cut through it in a few minutes.

Ignore what I said about the bolts rambleon. I searched some more after I bought some bolts and found better bolts included in the hardware box.

thanks for the heads up on the bolts, thats good news...Yeah i may end up buying a power saw to cut the bolts, i dont want to spend a half hour on my back sawing the exhaust off with a hack saw lol.

So I'm guessing you are fully installed now? I've read the fitment with FSwerks is usually pretty good, im hoping for a pain free install tonight.
