New (to me) 2000 Focus Kona Edition

First post, so I hope I've got this in the right forum. Admins - feel free to move as necessary.

Got what I think it a really cool find today. Sold an 89 Jetta and a 98 Dodge Ram 5.9 liter last week, and went looking for a reliable, fun and economical Commuter car. I have bad knees (too many years in the Infantry), and as much as I love and still drive stick shifts, I wanted an auto for a commuter car.

Last week the local Seattle/Tacoma Craig's List showed a 2000 Focus Kona Edition, 120K, auto, air, tilt cruise, etc. I knew nothing of the Kona's so I did some research and sent my emails to get a hold of the seller. 9 days later, no reply after multiple emails. I was beginning to think I'd have to settle for something else, when lo-and-behold,m i git an email yesterday saying he still had the car.

Long story short, I now and the VERY proud owner of the limited edition 2000 Kona Focus in Metallic Dirt!

the car is pretty straight, a couple of door dings and such that are to be expected on a 12 year old car. Original wheel intact, all the side door bumpers intact, roof rack intact etc. I do need to find the floor mats and seat covers so any help there would be nice, but it is cool.

Some bads, had to switch out the blower resister. My 13 year old son had the job done in 15 minutes thanks to this forum!! Cost: $32.00 from the local Ford dealer. Needs to have the grill replaced (no biggy), and it needs to have the valve/cam cover gaskets replaced.

The guy was asking $2800.00. I offered $2500.00 and he took it. Great guy and family, very helpful. They bought the car when it had 8K miles on it and their daughter has been driving it ever since.

I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow. Thanks for having me!

Cool, I just got a 2000 Kona in Amazon Green earlier this month as well. Mine is missing everything but the side moldings and has some front end damage though. Good luck with the car.
