Anyone here have MFT with Navigation? Need a part number...

Hey FF, I have a problem.

As some of you may know, I've spent the better part of a year and a half trying to upgrade to the full nav system. My dealership screwed me over a bit when I bought the car and I didn't get the feature, despite it being the *singular* thing I told them I required in my purchase. Long story short, it's possible to upgrade to Nav from non-Nav; however, I need help!

All I need is two part numbers (to determine which is different). They're easy to get, but require taking off the middle piece of dash work. Overall, it is less than 15 minutes of work to take it off, check the numbers, and put it back on. I did it again this morning (even took all of the modules out) and it took about 15 min total.

Basically, I need the part # of the lower module (where you put in the CDs), and the screen. The numbers of both will be something similar to the following (just an example): CM51-19C107-CE. All of the Ford modules in the dash follow that scheme.

If you live near Cleveland I'd even be more than willing to come check it out myself (if you don't feel comfortable taking the center dash piece off...it's only connected with 2 screws, so it's very simple). For reference, I've worked on cars for 15 years and have built hundreds of computers. When finished everything will be exactly as it was before starting, as a guarantee.

If anyone can help, *please* let me know. So far I've spent around $1200 attempting this upgrade because Ford refuses to help with the parts I'd need. I know it's possible, I just have to find the correct one.

I could also post a quick guide, if needed, but the basis of it is just taking off the little cap under the center of the dash (below the audio controls, on the underside of the bulge) and using a Torx wrench to unscrew the 2 screws. The dash piece comes out in a solid piece, but make sure to unplug the 2 cables plugged into the back. Taking out the Torx screws on the front of the CD player (there are 2, which you should be able to easily see) lets you pull out the entire module. Just pull it a bit, because it's sitting in a track in the bottom.

On the right side of the unit (from your perspective) there will be a sticker with the part # on it. This is the one that's more important. The one for the top is on the back of the screen (not the metal module plugged into it, but the screen module itself), but that one is most likely the same across all MFT systems. The part # from the bottom is the important one.

As I said, this should take less than 15 minutes (even if you have not done it, previously) -- and I would *GREATLY* appreciate if someone took the time to help me before I dropped another $1,000 :)

Give me a chance to check out mine, had to take it back to the dealer today, the whole mft system was acting weird. None of the sub menus were there, just the home screen. They had to reload the software and now its works fine. Are the numbers you need in the diagnostic screen or do I have to actually yank them out?

Unfortunately the number for the bottom device doesn't seem to be in the diagnostics screen (unless it's reading wrong). Luckily the sticker is right on the side of the module...it just means the module still has to be pulled out a bit to see it.

I'm sorry? You mean the A3 update? I don't currently have Nav, so it doesn't perform any update at all. I put in the SDCard and nothing happens.
