P0171 trouble code questions
2006 Focus 2.0L ZX4 It has been throwing the P0171 code for a few times. I bought a Bosch O2 sensor but when I actually got it installed in the manifold I realized the electrical connector was for the middle 02 sensor. Since I couldn't return it I replaced the middle one and ran the car for a few days. The CEL came back on and is throwing the same code. I have the new O2 sensor on order and should be here today. I have spent the last hour reading about this code. I have seen people washing there car and this code being thrown because the plugs/coils were wet.
1. This car has oil in the spark plug boots. I will be replacing the valve cover gasket this weekend. If water could be a contributing factor couldn't oil? 2. Is there anything else I need to check/change when I have the valve cover that would eliminate any future problems? TIA! |

Our cars usually dont like the Bosch sensors. OEM is the ways to go...
