Upgrade from 4 inch screen to MFT?

Hey, does anyone know if it's possible to upgrade a focus with the the two screens to the MFT unit? It would mean changing out the bezel etc, but I'm thinking that with quite a few people not liking the MFT, they might switch it out for a pioneer or something, there might be some MFT units available.

Just wondering if it would be possible to switch it or is there a lot more to it?

I know the climate controls wold not work, but maybe those would just be grey-ed out or something. I think I could deal with the quirks.

I actually like my two four inch screens just fine, and I like snapping my iPhone up here for GPS and slacker artwork. I can even have it charging there now.
I wish that slacker or pandora would orient sideways, but that is for a different forum:)

I don't see it being cost effective. I'd rather have a pioneer after hearing the complaints on mft. I just wish I knew where to get the 4" screens to replace my 2 line one. Of course I'd want the one on the gauges too and I don't even know if that swap is doable.

It might be cost effective if it was used.

To get a pioneer installed right now it looks pretty ugly, but that might change as the aftermarket companies make new trim pieces etc.

Just thinking down the road a bit

Ford also claimed that you can't install navigation in a car that wasn't built with it, but some one bought a mft unit with navigation from a wrecked car and installed it in place of their standard mft system and it allegedly not only worked it also allowed them to update to the latest mft and maps. So what ford says and what is true don't always align.

Very easy to disassemble center console, short wires to disconnect hazard/ door lock ( careful disconnecting this one) and one for the sony cd. Then 4 torx 20 screws and straight swapped units, all connectors look the same. I just dont have/see the usb extension for the backup camera. Both units look identical in every way, so it must just be a software update to enable the feature on the non nav units. Now i have a extra new center bezel and non nav mft sync services / sony cd unit. The bezel would work great for double din aftermarket installs.

I got full oem nav for $500, sweet.

I have an open (grey) usb port that must be for the camera, but i don't see the lead. I may try a camera install in the future.

It sounds almost too easy, although he did start with MFT to begin with, not sure I could suffer with it though. I prefer my more basic sync system myself.

I still don't think I trust that setup. It's been floating around for a while and I've never seen where anyone actually bought it or used it.
