Engine Shut Down While Driving

Hola!

And yet more problems with my 2002 focus zx5 (manual trans).... I currently have 140000 miles on my baby, and ever since I had my clutch replaced roughly 2 months ago I have had a rough idle and a rough shaking when I reverse sometimes. I took my car back to the shop that replaced the clutch, and they charged me WAY TOO MUCH to replace spark plugs claiming that was causing the rough idle and said my clutch had been correctly installed. What do you know, the spark plugs didn't fix the problem at all.

While driving today, I was in 3rd gear and accelerating onto a highway ramp when my engine decided to completely shut down. The dash lit up and the power steering went out. I rolled to the side of the road, took the key out of the ignition, and tried to turn the car back on and to my luck it actually started up and ran just fine like nothing had gone wrong.

I already have suspected that the rough idling was bad motor mounts, and i know for a fact that at least two are bad from just looking at them and doing an engine test. The car isn't throwing codes or saying I need to check the engine. I'm suspecting the cause of my engine shutting off while I was driving might be the ground strap.

Any ideas? Any help would be fabulous and greatly appreciated! I'm desperate to try and fix this problem myself because I can absolutely not trust mechanics when I take my car anywhere anymore. I am somewhat car savy and have friends and the tools to change things myself such as motor mounts and spark plugs, so just the part that may have been faulty would be very helpful. :)

Thank you so much!
