2002 focus zts P0122 reading Please help
I am new here and in need of focus help. I have a 2002 ford focus zts. I had a problem with an a violent shaking idling car and went about it the wrong way by first changing spark plugs, ignition coil, fuel filter and ultimately finding out it was a pcv valve hose that was old and pierced.
Now that it was fixed, I have a new issue with a check engine light and the car is jumping as it drives into gears. I have an error of P0122 and i have changed the throttle positioning sensor with no change in performance. any suggestions? |

Check the TPS wiring and ensure you installed the TPS correctly. See below.
P0122 - Throttle Position (TP) Circuit Low Input The TP sensor circuit is monitored by the PCM for a low TP rotation angle (or voltage) input through the comprehensive component monitor (CCM). If during key ON engine OFF or key ON engine running the TP rotation angle (or voltage) changes below a minimum calibrated limit, the test fails. Causes: TP sensor not seated properly TP circuit open to PCM VREF open to TP sensor TP circuit short to GND Damaged TP sensor Damaged PCM A TP PID (TP V PID) reading less than 3.42% (0.17 volt) in key ON engine OFF, continuous memory or key ON engine running indicates a hard fault. |
