2008 SE, 40,000 miles. Performance upgrades...?

As stated in the title, I own a 2008 SE Sedan. I am looking for a performance upgrade, but I do not want to sacrifice what is left of my warrantee and have slightly (somewhat very) limited funds available. I tried a Spectre cold air intake, but ran into a lean fuel mixture and had to remove it.
Ideas/Assistance?

If you still have the cold air intake, I would contact Tom (1turbofocus) and buy a flash tuner from him with a custom tune. That is going to be the best bang-for-buck mod you can do along with an intake.

A tune will void your warranty completely; though it is easy to load the original tune back onto the car before you take it to the shop and they'll never know the difference.

The tune does NOT completely void your warranty. I also have the extended 60k warranty from FORD and they were fine with the sct tune when i took it in. They asked how it made the focus run and i told them about the improved gas mileage also.
If your getting a tune you should get it from FSWerks. They have awesome customer service and stand behind thier products.

But beware as tunes are pricey and I see you said you have a limited budget. They are well worth it though

Ford now has it on file that you have a tune in your car , if anything happens (engine / trans failure) you will find out that it will void your warranty

Laod a tune then dont say anything and remove the tune when you take your car to Ford for warranty issues

With tuning from me you get a full custom tune , datalogging service second to none where I take over your laptop and set up the proper list to do you a proper tune , help any time issues come up even tho there not tune related , 100% stand behind all my products and more

This is all customer service that no other tuner offers

If you have engine or transmission failure they are not going to uphold warranty at that point anyways. they are going to say you drove it too aggresively because we all know dealers expect everyone to drive there car like its a fragile baby

From what I understand of FORD's current software it pulls up all data stored on the ecu and its pretty obvious when there is only a few hundred miled worth the data right before you bring it in if you wipe the ecu to stock. They could void any and all warranty for tampering with this just as easily as your tune being present.

He has a 2008 , If he had a 2011 I would be a little more worried

All he has to say is he unhooked the Batt for stereo or to clean the Batt post or many other things and that would start a new record , it doesnt take but about 50 miles for everything to look normal anyway , and even then Ford has no way of telling it has been flashed just that the ECU was cleared which like I said looks the same as taking the Batt loose

If that were the case then wouldn' t the ECU lose its tune everytime it is unhooked from the battery?

Disconnecting the battery resets the on-board memory.

The memory contains error logs, air fuel ratio, self-adjusted timing, sensor readings, etc....

It doesn't affect the tune.
