Question Static while playing music via Bluetooth

For some reason, there is a noticeable layer of static coming through my speakers when I play music via Bluetooth from my phone. It's an EnV Touch, probably 3-4 years old. I don't get static through the radio, CD, Sirius, MP3 player through aux/usb. This leads me to believe its the phone. Is there a chance its something with the Bluetooth connection of the car itself?
