Oil change due.

I brought my car in to have 2 recalls taken care of. I recieved notices for something related to the wiper motor and transmission. Anyways,... i get my car back and they tell me tgey took care of 3 recalls. The third i dont know what it was. Anyways,... when i start my car i get a message on the small display behind the steering wheel that says Oil change is due or something like that. I see and hear this everytime i start my car. How do i make it stop! I hope to god,... i dont have to bring it in every 3000 miles to have it stopped. Lol. Please help. It's quite annoying.

Turn car to full on (just before start) and press both brake and gas for 30 seconds

I had my oil changed last Thursday and the oil message came on about 200 miles later. The Ford tech forgot to reset it. I did it myself as per instructions above. However, It's good to know it works.

Ive got 24000 miles on my car and this is the first time i have seen this oil change message. I have changed my oil i dont even know how many times. About every 3000 miles. I did all the changes myself so it wasnt like a tech reset it or did something to keep it from alerting me.

Many of us are very busy and don't have the time to read the Owner's Manual when we purchase a new car. If that's the case for you, here is the procedure for resetting the oil monitoring system from pages 342 and 343 of the 1st printing of the manual. I hope this helps.

Resetting the Oil Life Monitoring System
1. Turn the ignition key to the on position. Do not start the engine. For vehicles with push-button start, press and hold the START/STOP button for two seconds without pressing the brake pedal. Do not attempt to start the engine.
2. Press both the accelerator and brake pedals at the same time.
3. Keep both pedals fully pressed.
4. After three seconds, the Service: Oil reset in prog. message will be displayed.
5. After 25 seconds, the Service: Oil reset complete message will be displayed.
6. Release both the accelerator and brake pedals.
7. The Service: Oil reset complete message will no longer be displayed.
8. Rotate the key to the off position. For vehicles with push-button start, press the START/STOP button to turn the vehicle off completely.
