I don't think I understand. A 40 offset wheels sits further out than a 45 offset, adding a spacer to the 45 would push it out the extra 5mm to make the fitment similar.

You understand correctly, he is the one who is confused.

The lower the number the further the face of the wheel is from the center of the car. So a 17x8 wheel with a 45mm offset and a 5mm spacer will sit in the identical location as a 17x8 wheel with a 40mm offset.

The standard wheels have a 55 mm offset.

I guess I am confused. How will a spacer move a 45 mm offset wheel into the same position as a 55 mm offset wheel (closer to the car's inside or center line)? That is what I asked. It seems a spacer would only be able to reduce the offset and move the wheels outward. Please enlighten me oh non-confused one.

I would buy a set of RPF1's today, but only in 17x8. I don't think I'd want the 18's. I'm tempted to go down to 16's, but I have a set of 17" Toyo R1R's left over from my previous car I should probably use. But it's impossible to find a reasonably priced 17" lightweight wheel. Closest is the Sparco Assetto Gara's at 19lbs for only 17x7.5's. Ford just had to use 5x108. A$$hats.

Anyhow I sort of need the wheels yesterday so, not sure how much help I'll be for this buy.

I guess if these in 18x8 at 18lbs flat are all that's available, I'll probably end up with a set.

Hopefully the Enekis are built better but these stupid expensive Cor wheels self destructed like a cheap cast wheel rather than the forged wheel it was advertised as.

Actually that is a damn good price for the wheels am definaTelY in the interested category just kinda broke atm.

Also as for stealing my car go ahead I get to laugh when you get 50ft. out of range my key fob and the car bricks itself.

That and Blue Candy isn't exactly a hard color to spot but after market wheels need locking lug nuts just to make thethieves job that much harder.

The only way I'd consider upgrading from my black 17s (which according to this forum are 21-22lbs), is if I could get the same size wheels, with proper offset, with a savings of 3-4lbs per wheel. Otherwise, what's the point? If you can do that, then I'd be quite interested

I'm probably the only user on here that wants 15" lightweight wheels.

I bought 15" winter steelies because they were cheap, but now that I want to hypermile I realized that 15x6 (might be 6.5?) steelies are probably like... 22lbs or something. Even though they still do have a significantly reduced moment of inertia compared to the 18"s.

If the Raijins were available, I'm pretty sure I'd pony up for them (I really like the thin y-spoked designs and have been searching around for a quality set).
