Sputtering at high speed with half tank of gas
I have a 2002 Focus that I use for track days/racing. I am having a problem with the thing loosing gas pick-up when it gets down to 1/2 tank. It only occurs in tight high speed curves. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions on a fix?

The fuel pickup is located in a 'box' with doors to trap fuel during hard cornering so that the fuel does not run away. If one of these doors is sticking, then that is your issue. Does it tend to happen more lefty or righty? That would be a good indicator I would think. (Note: I got this from Tom, who suggested it when I was having a problem with hard right hand turns. I have never dropped the tank to actually look!)
