A/C Controls

No matter how I set the controls, my a/c always comes on full blast when I start the car. 2012 w/touch screen.

Ya, I don't know why the car does that. I'm already used to spamming the little fan button the moment I turn on the A/C.

Well that's because whatever temperature you set the a/c is very far away from the ambient temperature as a result of the solar gain (i.e. the cabin is much hotter, or in the winter much colder) than your temperature set point. Therefore it cranks the hvac trying to achieve the target temperature zone as soon as possible.

Here is weird one. Like stated by the OP, mine also would come on full blast when I turned on the A/C using the Auto button. And it would be set to 68 degrees every time.

But than around a month ago I took my car in for that tranny software update.

Now, it still comes on full blast....but at 70 degrees!! Can't figure that one out!

Does it come on "full blast" if it was off before you turned the engine off?

Tip to prevent full blast when you turn on the system: Press the fan speed down (small fan) button first (to turn on the system) and adjust other settings appropriately.
