hanging throttle when stopping

Last night my wife and went out of town for dinner
First time to get the car out on the highway and stretch its legs
I had not noticed until last night that the throttle seems to hand around 1500-1750 RPM until I come to a complete stop
When completely stopped the idle then goes down to around 750 RPM in drive

Is this "normal" ??

Don't drive my focus enough to help you as I only have 2300 miles on it. Sorry.. But if you have a 14 focus I'd say it probably normal?

I'd say it's probably normal, gotta remember it's a DCT meaning it's going to downshift like a manual

If this is until you drop below 15 mph or so it is likely the car is trying to stay in ADFSO longer when coasting to a stop. ADFSO is the aggressive deceleration fuel shut off, where the car is no longer injecting fuel and is using the engine to brake the car via compression braking while pumping air through the engine.

Quote:
We are deploying Aggressive Deceleration Fuel Shut-Off technology to improve fuel efficiency. ADFSO allows fuel supply to the engine to be shut off during vehicle deceleration and then automatically restarted when needed for acceleration or when the vehicle’s speed approaches zero. This new system builds on the Deceleration Fuel Shut-Off technology available in our existing vehicles by extending the fuel shut-off feature to lower speeds and more types of common driving conditions, without compromising driving performance or emission.

This improved fuel shut-off will increase fuel economy by an average of 1 percent. An additional benefit is increased deceleration rates, which should extend brake life and improve speed control on undulating roads.
