What does this wire go to??

Looking under my hood, there is a loose wire with a square tube on the end? Anyone know where this thing goes and what it does? I have no check engine light, and all electric things in the car work, but I'm curious of what this thing goes too!?

What is the point of it? What does it do? Do I need to plug it in somewhere?

On the bracket that the coil sits on, you should find a plug where that goes.

Here is a pic of it, the grey plug sitting on the bracket. This is a pic from when I rebuilt my Zetec.



Is that the SPI, or Zetec? Looks a little different?

Stick your tongue on it and start the car. If it shocks you then it does something....if not, no loss.
