Zetec Options and Vs. Others
Hey fellow Zetec owners =). So i had to cut my project due to me losing my job but now its back on site. I mostly want response and hp but tq to back it up. Nothing serious. Just a good daily driver that is good on gas fun to drive and will beat out civics lol. Im open to all ideas depending. Also I'm curious to if any of you have actually raced your Zetec motors. These engines defiantly in my opinion hold there own. cars ive raced Mazda 3(basic package) with an intake and full exhaust. A few civics at a car meet and one 90s SI. BMW cly the one that looks like the m3 E30 model and a Sr20det boosted sentra.
Mazda=Tie I was strictly on E lmao still kept up and made it to the gas station Civic SI=He had a few mods he blew me out on the 20 roll BMW= Tie till we hit traffic and had to brake lol Sentra= It went back and forth tie win lose lol Civics=depends on mods but always kept up never blew me out at all Let me know your feedback guys and girls |

First off, save the tracing for the track and don't do this on public roadways. If you are wanting more horsepower while maintaining reliablity your best bet is to go with forced induction whether it be turbo, supercharger or nitrous. But if you want to remain naturally aspirated you could go the intake, header, exhaust route and get a good tune to go along with it to make everything run smooth.

Well i only run on controlled environmental roads i never put anyone in danger. And isnt forced induction for the zetec motor a bit pricey??

FI is pricey but, u can find a used setup on here for the price ud pay for all the NA bolt-ons. if i could do it all over again, id save my money for boost. are u auto or manual?

Im not sure what Control ed Environmental roads are, but that doesn't sound like a proper track to me.
Either way, the focus is not a good drag platform, its front wheel drive and pretty much gutless. Even with a turbo and proper supporting equipment, there are alot of cars out there that will beat you in a straight line. Where the focus shines is in the corners.

I say save up for boost. Even a little JRSC will get you more power for the same money going NA.
