2000 ZX3 5.0 V8 conversion, C4, 8.8 Posi

2000 Ford Focus ZX3 powered by 302 Ford V8. Converted to rear wheel drive.

The car had approximately 91,000 miles on it at the time of conversion. The V8 drive train has about 3000 miles since it was rebuilt and installed. All factory gauges including speedometer, tachometer, fuel quantity, and temperature work as stock. Power steering and power brakes remain and function correctly. Air Conditioning system and heat system remain intact and function. Power windows, door locks, power mirrors and even the remote locks work as stock. This is not a half baked conversion, it was done professionally and without any short cuts. Car can be driven daily and is extremely fun to drive. This is one of those cars that makes you grin and feel like a kid when you drive it.

Overall condition is very good. No rust or rot whatsoever. Paint is nice, I would give it an 8 of 10. Interior is also very nice, no rips or tear in the seat, dash is nice, no cracks and carpet is decent.

Professionally built using the full Kugel Komponents kit (kit sells for $6,000 by itself). Rebuilt 5.0 302 Mustang roller engine, .30 over forged pistons, Edelbrock Performer aluminum heads, 303 Hyd roller cam, roller rockers, Edelbrock Performer intake with a Demon 750 carb. MSD distributer, blaster coil, and MSD 6 ignition. Edelbrock Performer 100 shot NOS kit. Custom headers and dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers.

Power rack and pinion steering conversion. 17 inch rims with 215/40-17 tires on the front and 275/40-17 Nitto 555R tires on the rear. Tires are in good condition.

Rebuilt C4 automatic transmission with a 2800 stall convertor. B&M Pro stick shifter mounted in the stock console. B&M trans cooler mounted on engine cradle. Transmission operates in full auto or manual modes.

8.8 Traction lock rearend with 3.73 gears. Aftermarket axles and stud girdle cover. Custom front and rear swaybars. Rear adjustable coil over shocks.

15 Gallon aluminum fuel cell, connected to stock fuel filler cap, Fuel quantity sender hooked up to stock fuel gauge. Battery relocated to trunk next to fuel cell and Nitrous bottle.

The cost to build this car was approximately 20K and about 6 months of work. The cost of the Kugel kit alone is $6k and that does not include the price of the car, 5.0 engine, C4 transmission or the rearend.

The asking price is $11,900. Car is located in New Brockton, Alabama. Please see photobucket link below for pictures.

i shouldnt be working myself up over a car again but dangit i cant help myself. how many rpms is that engine turning at highway speed? i cant do the math in my head to figure up all the gearing ratios right after i wake up. have you had it on a dyno yet?

I'll see if I can get a video this weekend. 3.73 gears, tachs about 2800 rpm at 60mph. Never been on the dyno but the motor is basically a 5.0 hyd roller GT40 spec motor, a little extra head work and 750 DP carb. Motor is easy 340-350 hp. I don't bother with a dyno on motors that are not in the 800 plus hp range. If you are really interested come drive it and make me an offer.
