I just wanted to say it's not a three step process. If you push the unlock button only once, the dome light won't go on. If you push the unlock button twice (quickly) it will go on.

I think this is a feature of "stealth entry". Which is also why one button press only unlocks the drivers door. If some shady dude is coming up to your car, you can unlock only the drivers side with no dome light to safely get in your car without him being able to grab any other door and also get in your car and/or see what you look like. Start car, drive away, call police.

I could be completely wrong though. But with every car I have owned, that's what I was told why only the drivers side unlocks with one button press.

I set my remote to open all doors with 1 press, dome light comes on. My problem is a third of the time it won't go off till it times out. I must be the only one with this problem, driving at night with the dome light on (stays on in the daytime too). If anyone else has this problem please post, the dealer has seen it once but it would not do it for the tech.

That' does not seem to be it, at least for my car with respect to the domelight, because sometimes the domelight illuminates with one click, and tail light and parking light generally illuminate, although may be its different with your car.

What is this "stealth entry" crap that people are talking about, like it's something real? Stop making stuff up.

My domelight usually turns off when I start the car, but occasionally stays on after I start the car unless I open and close the door.

Dum Dome Lights

Let me add my 2 cents..
My dome lights also do not come on unless I push unlock, lock, unlock as someone has stated before. and of course the lights do not come on if I only press the unlock button once. But yesterday I discovered that the dome light will come on after a single press IF the auto headlight feature has been turned off for the headlights. Anyone else notice that?

By the way it bothers me that there is a noise coming from under the hood right after the door is opened too. ( saw that thread too)
I do not care for the fact that the car is so over programmed that something under the hood is activated before the key is in the ignition.

Why does the DCT gnome live under the hood of my MTX-equipped Focus?

I have the problem intermittently but don't use the auto headlight feature. I think it a fluke or weird design flaw, but that's just my guess.
