has anyone though of a simple sheet metal bracket that bolts on the filter side of the maf flange, rund down the side of the filter (not touching it obviously, then bending it so it kind of holds the filter up onto the maf? it would put less stress on the clamp. you'd only need one if it went across the length of the filter end. and it wouldn't bother airflow too much. heck it'd even keep the filter from falling off.

Glad to see your new housing is working too! No problems with mine yet either. Still waiting on a permanent fix though!

Have you guys considered that maybe you stressed your original flange when trying to fit that tight @$$ hump hose on there, rather than stressing it by over-tightening the filter? I'm pretty sure that's what happened to my original housing. I was pushing hard against the flange when installing that hose. The hose wasn't nearly as tight when I reinstalled it on the new housing.

It's possible but I didn't really abuse the first housing when installing the hose. Possible link though, no doubt

So is this they way the seal is supposed to be installed? Seems kinda ghetto to me. Still not loving the noise, I wonder if I can do anything to muffle some of the sound. Unfortunately it reminds me of a riced out Honda with a giant fart can and ridiculous wing every time I give it a little gas. I will admit I'm more OCD about things like this than most...

Looks correct. I had to cut about 1.5" off of my seal cause there was too much. So mine is not pulled as tight.
