2005 Ford Focus Intake Manifold

Hi All,

I recently replaced the gaskets on the intake manifold of a 2005 Focus, ZX4 2L SE. After replacing the IAC, MAP Sensor, O2 Sensor and plugs. I found there was a vacuum leak around cylinder Pos#1. Following that I replaced the gaskets and noticed there is an open hole around the size of a dime that is flush against the chassis next to the rod for the flapper valve. It appear that cover is missing or was in the process of coming off which is why the car started running rough. Anyone have any idea what that missing piece is? I contacted the Ford Dealer and they are not sure. Any help would be appreciated on how to fix this.http://sdrv.ms/KxtZtq

Looks like your tumble flaps are falling apart.
I just looked at my 03 duratec, that area has a plastic press-in plug that appears to be the pivot for the tumble flap. That's a best guess, not a for-sure.
