Red reflector on inside passenger door won't stop rattling

Not really a huge deal but it is driving me insane when I play music. The little red reflector thing on the edge of the inside passenger door won't stop rattling (with bass from music). I bought a new one and it still does it so I think it is just poor fitment. I don't listen to music very loud or have my bass too high, it just likes to make noise.

Anyone know of a solution that could fix this? I tried insulting the edges with electrical tape...didn't work.

Any ideas?

I have an occaisional rattle there too that stops when I press on the reflector. But I assumed it was something behind the panel. Others have reported getting such passenger door rattles fixed by the dealer. You really need to take yours in for it.

My problem is that rattle, as well as about half a dozen others, is infrequent and not reliably repeatable. Don't know if I'll have success in getting the dealer to address it...

I don't think it is the door rattle others have reported. I've sat in the passenger seat and if I just put my finger on it without any pressure it stops. I think it just needs some space between it and the door panel, but I can't think of a clean way to do that

I think I would try some thick silicone (dielectric) grease around the edges of the reflector, then pop it in and wipe off the excess.

Question...I did a google search for it. It looks like it used primiarly to condition weather seals around t-tops and convertible tops. Neither the reflector or the door where it pops in has any rubber. Is this stuff sticky at all?

Yes, it is thick and a bit sticky and that's why I would use it. However, it doesn't leave a sticky film behind when you wipe off the excess.

Gotcha. I'll see if I can pick some up at a local store.

I bought this last week to use for some speaker rattling as well. I just haven't gotten to actually using it yet... I'll let you know how it goes if I ever get that far.
