high flow cat or straight pipe?

well im moving soon, so my exhaust will be put on hold due to lack of funds. So i saw online the magnaflow high flow cat, will that provide any gains? Also could i install the fswerks race pipe? Just kind of looking for something cheaper to hold me over for a year or so

You have the ST so your exhaust is already missing the rear resonator so its louder than other non ST foci.

The FSwerks race pipe is 2.5" diameter and I don't think the stock exhaust is that big.

I would say just save your money until you can afford a complete system; you'll be much happier.

I agree with this, and when you do get your exhasut just do it right the first time and get the fswerks race or stealth. In the end you will end up spending much more than what it costs trying to make the trubendz sound the way you want it to. Just save up for the fswerks and you will be very happy!

If you aren't planning on putting on a header go straight pipe but if you do plan on getting a header I would go hfc...or save up for another muffler to add to your set-up...at least if you get a hfc it's still legal.

well that was my reasoning for adding the cat lol then i got it inspected saturday and every guy at the shop was oooing and awwwing at my car haha they dont even run emissions testing on newer years. if it doesnt have an error code they pass it. and my trust custom sct tune disabled the rear 02 sensor so no cat still = no error code(= will be removing the cat and replacing it with the straight through muffler i used to have in the front pipe position. I actually had a magnaflow round muffler in the straight position and replaced it with the hfc and a magnaflow resonator because i was scared about the emissions test haha whats bad is it is actually a hell of a lot louder with the cat and resonator than it was with just the round muffler!

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but what hfc do you have? I have the Fswerks race exhaust and just purchased their header from a fellow FF member (Thanks K26!!). I want to weld a hfc into the straight pipe section for my visual emissions inspection and another muffler so I don't get harrassed by the Popo haha any suggestions? thanks!

the magnaflow high flow cat. But have you heard how loud the header makes it? lol you will want an additional muffler or at least a magnaflow resonator... like i said above mine currently has the hfc, magnaflow resonator, and the round magnaflow version of the fswerks race muffler setup. It is still loud as hell haha

Honestly I may just purchase koke's exhaust he has for sale which has the hfc and magnaflow resonator. Probably won't do headers just because since I'm moving I will be short on money and losing my connection to a mechanic i know who hooks up the labor. May do a tune in the future though
