Dynomax VT muffler

I just installed one of these on my 2.5 mandrel exhaust with a 18 inch glasspack in the resonator position, and it sounds pretty good from the inside. Theroy is, valve stays closed during light to moderate acceleration and at cruise. It opens up during hard acceleration to provide straight through performance and sound. They also claim drone free operation and so far they are right. It is almost stock quiet in the cab during most driving conditions while providing just enough growl to make me know it's there. Every once in a while (mostly going slow up my steep driveway) it will flop the valve open and shut rapidly whop whop whop whop sound. It is a pretty unique sound this exhaust will be staying on my car because it pleases me, the wife, and the kids don't get drowned out in the back seat. Videos later tonight hopefully.

Here is an outside listen. The thump clank at the end of the revs is the valve in the muffler closing and you don't hear it in the car. I guess under normal operation it wouldn't be such a sudden loss of pressure like reving stationary. Inside it has absolutley no drone and is very mild even at WOT, not at all bassy rattle everything like the glasspacks. Bought it on Amazon for 80.00 remeber I have a glasspack in the resonator positon so if you got one it might sound different. They do claim no drone and there isn't any in my car. If you want to post the -I can't believe you reved it past 2,000 rpm- statement please remember you're looking at an exhaust thread, and anyone looking at exhaust threads wants to hear the exhaust. I've had enough of Debbie Downers today.

Sounds good to me. If you have a GoPro, I would love to hear some driving clips from behind the car.

So what is your complete exhaust setup? 2.5" Mandrel bent piping with 2 resonators and the Dynomax Muffler?

Muffler has similar to a muffler Apex-i used to offer.

18 inch glasspack in the front resonator position. 2.5 mandrel aluminized tubing the dynomax muffler I haven't picked a tip yet so just exits dropped under the valance.

This was the tubing and the glasspacks next to it where they went. I cut the rear pack out and put the dynomax muffler in today because of the drone in the car.

This was a mustang on the lift next door today it looked cool thought I'd share.

Sounds great. People may laugh at the glass pack, but they make great resonators and take up very little space. You can get them loooonnnggg for extra sound deadening. I've used them a lot for that purpose. Plus, the are non-restrictive.

It sounds really good! I will say it is hard to tell if it is quieter than other exhausts through the video. Props to you for trying something new!!

And who says you can't rev past 2000? never heard that one before!

I like that sound, where is the muffler located? in the rear?

The glasspacks are made there right? I really want to come out there and get a custom exhaust built, though i want to go header back.
