I'd use a fuse tap at the fuse panel (BCM).

Thanks!

So all I need to do is use a fuse tap or a add-a-circuit fuse to route power to the tablet right? See below:

And I did find the fuse box under the glove compartment. The owner's manual had the following diagram.

I suppose I can make use either Fuse 61 (cigarette lighter) or 80 (Sunroof, I don't have one).

I don't had any hands-on experience doing this kind of work. Have to ask the most simple questions

I might be oversimplifying things for you, but ...

The add-a-circuit gets you 12V DC. You probably need an a adapter to 5V USB to connect to the tablet.

They make standard and mini Add-A-Circuits - I think the Focus uses the mini fuses.

The Sunroof fuse would probably be good. You want a fuse that is only powered when the car is running so you don't drain the car battery running the tablet when the car is off.

Yes, I've already ordered a 12V to 5V USB converter. These are pretty cheap and comes from China, so I'm hoping they are somewhat durable.

Thanks for the caution on the mini-fuse, but I think it's only used in the power distribution box under the hood. At least that's what it says in the manual.

There's an oxymoron.

I would just take out the sunroof fuse and match it up when you get the Add-A-Circuit at the parts store.

Metra dash kit & backup camera working great!

I just got a Metra dash kit, backup camera and head unit working great with Sync in my 2012 Focus SE, so I thought it would be appropriate to share on this thread. Pic and part numbers (and new Axxess steering wheel control firmware version needed to get the Sync controls working) in this post http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...&postcount=173

Hey PhillyFan, sorry to bring up an older thread, but just ordered my metra kit and I'm really curious to know how you fixed the tablet to it. Going by what it says is included with the kit, it doesn't seem like there's any sort of docking set up for a tablet. Wondering how you did it.
