Bluetooth MAP Support added to iOS 6

Did that. No one received any of the SMSs I sent. I was unable to receive any through the car (though they showed up on the phone). Did you actually get it to work?

I have the MFT system and expected to see texts but nothing. Another apple disappointment. Any word on how to get Bluetooth MAP to work?

So, anyhoo...

Upgraded my iPhone 4S today to iOS6.

In the 2012 Focus with MFT, I had to delete the phone and re-add it as a bluetooth device so that it would be recognized as having v6.0 and having SMS capability. (Bluetooth Devices, pick, INFO)

Then it seemed to allow me to send text messages via MFT screen... even said they were sent successfully, but the recipient never got them. Same for incoming texts... never got the alert and using the "Text Messages" voice command resulted in my being told that there were none (even though the phone itself had received them).

Phonebook pictures... didn't seem to get them. But wouldnt that be MAP, not SMS?

Bluetooth audio... it shows the song/artist nicely.

One small step for a man...

Anyone have better luck? Maybe this is a reason for Focus MFT 3.2 delay? (That would be awesome if they were working on these)

Hey guys just a heads up BT MAP the protocol needed for SMS over Bluetooth does not seem to be a part of the GM build of iOS 6. I imagine they will add it in a later update. The first beta had a rough implementation of it (very buggy) all subsequent betas did not have the feature. It is likely that they were focused on other areas of the software update and this got left behind. Judging by how small it was on the keynote slide I imagine it wasn't a high priority in the first place.

One more thing, the new maps app has audio over bluetooth, but it only works when the audio source in mft is set to bluetooth. In other words if you are listening to music from a sd card, the iphone nav voice does nothing. I used waze a bit and it seemed to work fine, it would mute the music and speak the directions.

If not right away, I bet Ford includes Siri support soon enough. iPads and iPhones are too common for Ford to ignore them completely

Got the new iOS6. I have an SE w/o MFT but sync. No changes. Still doesn't play BT automatically, or whichever audio source I had playing last. BT doesn't show artist or song name either... awesome.

Have you tried via usb yet? That one seems to always work as far as returning to this source after turning the car off, as long as there is a usb stick or mp3 player attached. At least in my car with sync w/ myford (not MFT).
