It is very possible because the car was built to that standard, but there could be things that may make it not pass inspection for CA Legal.

I understand your concerns. But if it makes you feel somewhat better, I have only been pulled over once in this car for speeding when it had the V8, and the cop didn't even ask what was under the hood, plus I ended up beating the ticket anyway. The car is not a cop magnet, unless you drive like you stole it, in which case that's on the driver not the car

Your more immediate concern should be passing smog every other year. I built this car to eventually be registered properly, might require some additional minor tinkering to get it to pass (tune or exhaust), but that will be on the buyer and may be best to consult with a smog expert first.

By the car then move to ohio. No inspections no smag laws. As long as it has working lights, insurence and it registered you can drive it. They don't care what's under the hood.
