That seems fairly reasonable to me, considering the alternator cutoff and lack of a power steering pump.

Indeed. Got a little off track there.
Something I'll add is that I believe a Focus owner from Australia on here mentioned Ford rates their 2.0L at 167chp. They also only recommend premium so that's something to take into account, but we can do the same with not much difference in performance (or at least nothing proven so far). I'd say we may be looking at a number that's pretty close to what we are actually looking at. Especially when you take kylesvt720's point about drive train losses. Quote:
10% loss from 167 is 150.3. I'd say that's in the ballpark of what we are seeing from dyno runs (at least those closer to sea level). Granted, those are still not 100% "you can take that to the bank" numbers but it certainly fits the bill better than just taking the clearly underrated numbers given to the American public. |

Uh oh, here comes another fuel debate...I do find what you said interesting.
I'm happy with everyone's numbers. This means good things, no matter what side of the debate you are on. |

so are these numbers the best we can get without tuning or is there still stuff he could add to improve power?

Bitter sweet seeing those numbers. Sucks it wasn't the increase everyone anticipated and wanted but it is great that it did increase the WHP. BUt this was with an AEM CAI. I would like to see it with one of the SHORT RAM style intakes that Steeda/FS has out. see what difference there is. But a tune will sure help out.
But regardless of a 1% drive trainloss or a 99% drive train loss. The car is still making more WHP than the rest of us for now. I am happy with the stock numbers but I can't wait to get atleast an intake and exhaust. |

The only real way to figure out what the potential of this engine un-tuned is if Red gets a header.

As posted earlier, don't forget to recognize how flat the torque curve is. I think that is what I am mostimpressed with. I'll bet that car is really fun to drive!
