I'm cool with constructive criticism, though it is nice to have at least one person that likes it.

I think that the proportion is all out of whack with the black rims. Interestingly, after I Dipped them it appeared as if I had thrown in a suspension lift. I gave the car a couple days to re-settle from being on the jacks half a day, and it looks no better. So hopefully the springs get installed in the next couple of weeks and can help re-unify it.

Side Note-My buddy has a Black Ti hatch (wife's), and he's holding out for a Turbo Veloster...Thought you may get a kick out of that being in your signature!

Love what you've done so far! I'm getting a set of black wheels for my SGM hatch but with a silver lip around them, so it has some separation from the black of the tire. Looking forward to seeing the future mods too

It's just cool man you're like me just daring to be different and who cares, it's all in good personal fun to stand out a little bit.

The first picture looks hot that's what first caught my eye in the plasti dip thread, I saved that pic. But the second pic you have up here looks eh - it's just the angle and lighting. I can see though, how in the first pic it works well. (And you can peel the stuff off, or just peel one side off, go half and half.)

He must like cheap plastic and small Korean cars. The HV just doesn't stand up to the Ti for my needs, that's all I'm saying. Had a walkaround of one; little room in there for what I would need it for, and just like PatroN said, haha. (not to go off topic or anything) to each his own as the saying goes.

Thanks That's a pretty good idea with the wheels...

We do have some pretty nasty contour on those headlights. It is very angular and semi-unattractive when viewed in any direction other than head on. I just don't want to cover the reflectors. I use the Loder 1899 Mk3 for inspiration, and that is one thing I really don't like about it-the eyelids.

I agree with you on the Veloster. Neat in some ideas, not remotely near the quality of the Ti, and sporting the H badge that (while they have gotten better) I don't think I can ever fully trust. Even if I was cool with it, the last thing I need is a turbo. That's why I chose a Ti now over paying roughly the same for the ST.

There is no off-topic in this thread to me. Just chillin. Real opinions, real chat. Just trying to get to know some fellow enthusiasts and their thought processes.

High five is much better than !!

What did the window deflectors do(ie. how did they fail)? I've got some OE's bnib. Maybe I'll sell them to somebody at a good discount.

High-fives could be currency in my world.

The driver's side deflector broke at the tab that slides behind the side mirror plastic the first time I went to the car wash. The shades had a few days to cure before I went there, the little tab just couldn't handle the pressure. After that broke, it slowly started de-bonding from the crazy rubber that it attaches to.

The drivers side rear passenger began to de-bond from the window and crazy rubber as well. I did scuff the sills (thanks for that vehicle scar, Ford) and also applied the primer as per the instructions. Being an A&P mechanic, I'm kind of a stickler for following instructions.

The passenger side had no issues whatsoever, but I couldn't rightly just keep one side. I ripped them all off and placed them ever-so-gently in the trash. It was the first and only set of out-of-channel ventshades that I will ever buy.

I've heard that in-channel was affecting the window motors, but I don't know if that was an isolated incident. You could probably find more info by searching the threads. I will say that you don't realize just how quiet these cars are until you put a set of ventshades on, it was surprising. Every vehicle I've ever owned has had a set (smoker, just not in this car) and it is surprisingly louder with them installed.

So now, my car is hot when I get in it after a days work. Cool during the day and loud on the road, or quiet on the road and hot after work. Those appear to be our choices.

Well A&P, meet ATP. Good to know you. Glad you're a stickler!

I'm thinking of trying the EGR in-channel visors, but I haven't made up my mind yet.

I couldn't tell exactly what was in your Avatar, but I figured if I threw out A&P that I would get something. Most ATP's appreciate those that try to do work by the book!

Most all in-channel visors require the removal of the felt for good adhesion. I would imagine that people not wanting to remove it may be what is causing the motor issues. One or two had motors fail, others seemed to complain that it was interfering with the auto up/down. Idk for sure.
