I did not put the oil pump gears in when I built the motor. At the time I was looking at a 325 - 350 hp daily street car. Keep it around 400 and you`ll be OK.

Think the issue is rpm's with the gears, OEM are good to around 7,200-300, can't remember but if that's the plan in hp you don't need a twin disk.

So just got off the phone with Will at CFM he said the oil pump gears may take a while, so my next best thing I can do is when I have the car tuned is to have the rev limiter set at like 6900rpms
As for running the fx400 idk
My only thing is, I don't want to put the fx400 in then have the clutch slipping all over the place
Then have to pull the trans again to do the twin ughh
@ roushturboedzx3 @ Mother Focus what clutch setup were you running?
At 400hp?

Fx400 and it is nice as a DD, Fernando got 608whp with the same one, it will definitely need replacing sooner than a twin disk but you can get 3 of them for the price. If I was going to run around 560whp all the time then I would get it.

Turning to 7200-7500 rpms is ok. Its when you get closer to 8000 rpm that they like to break up.

If your only going for 400whp then a fx400 will be more then enough. Also since you wont be turning high rpm then a twin disk really wont help you out. all you need is the fx400

Agree its high RPM harmonics that kill the oil pump gears not the amount of HP your making

Set the rev lim to about 73-7400 and you should be ok , but as always there is no guarantees but you odds are far better then 7800 RPM
