Yea, those are the wheels. If the weather holds they will be gunmetal by next weekend.

Talking UPDATE: Fully settled

I want to start by saying that it has been hell this year for keeping our cars clean enough to suit a detail freak like me. Plus the black is killing me!

Had it clean, went for a drive, had a freak thunderstorm!

Anyway, the lighting was good so you can see the drop.

I am not changing these springs for Steeda's (I was tempted), because they ride and handle so great. This is how this car should have been stock...

I'll measure again in a minute... Thanks for the comments. The silver wheels are looking good today. Almost hesitant to do the dip...

Thumbs up Final measurements

Stock springs with 1/4 coil in the rear cut: 26 7/16" front and 26 11/16" rear.

2010+ MS3 springs with 1 full coil cut off the front: 25 13/16" front and 25 15/16" rear.

So pretty much an inch all around (more in the rear if you started with completely stock rears [mine were cut]).

I think you have the best wheels even over the TI 18's. If you ever want to trade for stock sport 16's Ill drive to WV to get em lol

sounds like it is right around a 1" drop roughly all around nice.

You are welcome. Sent you a PM to answer your spring questions.

Yea, these wheels look so much better with the spacers and lowered.

I do wish they were Ti 18"s though. The best factory Focus wheel ever IMHO.

Thus the MS3 springs fall about in the middle of the Eibach Pro-Kit's progressive rates.

The MS3 springs are shorter than those on the Focus as well, but because of the front weight differences (the MS3 engine is heavy due to the top mount IC, turbo, etc.) the front may not drop and might raise (very possible).

I know that people who have put MS3 springs on Gen 1 Mazda 3s have seen about a +3mm-+10mm rise in the front but about a half inch drop in the rear. On the Gen 2 Mazda 3 they are seeing no drop in the front and a half inch drop in the rear which levels the car.

The issue for me is that Gen 2 Mazda 3s weigh between 3000+ lbs for a manual and 3100+lbs for an automatic. The Gen 2 MS3 is around 3200+ lbs.

The MK3 Focus weighs a little over 2900 lbs, with the DCT only weighing 28 lbs more than the manual.

Thus I am going to cut 1/8-1/4 of a coil off the front of the MS3 springs before I install them (band saw=minimal heat). This is okay since they are linear rate springs and every coil is an active coil. There will be very little change in rate.

I am taking a chance with maybe getting too low in the front, but it makes since with what experinces Mazda 3 owners have had with these springs. We will see...

I thought I would add this:

From the 2013 Focus ST supplement...

The spring rates are almost identical to the MS3! Also, look at the sway bar sizes. The front suspension knuckle is upgraded with better geometry and so is the rear (along with a direct to knuckle rsb attachment), thus the bars are pretty mild..

More cool info...

So Mazda went the mild spring big bar (26mm front and rear) route, and Ford went the aggressive spring mild bar route...
