I think if I were you I would change brands of paint. I have never heard of someone getting as much lifting as you did on this project.

I call this the Chip Foose look, always rocking the tshirt tucked into jeans, no belt

(probably more function than form when painting)

coming along nice, so close to finishing

it's not the paint, its the environment I'm painting in. Just something I have to deal with until I can get into a dedicated space aside from my home garage. I build custom vintage motorcycles in there more often than painting so I end up with a lot of grease/oil/gas on the concrete and I also ended up changing shirts partway through because I noticed a big oily spot on my sleeve and that seems to have been a major contributing factor, I didn't have any more loft after changing shirts.

I don't know if you'll be in town this Sunday, but there's the Great Lakes Get Together on Sunday at 12 and you should definitely bring this beast.

I have already commited to Spring Into Focus in Ohio the same day, GLGT was announced MUCH later than SiF and I can't be at both, so sadly I won't be in attendance.

So, I owe a monstrous thankyou to Pirite and Checko for all of the obscene amounts of time they've obliged helping me throughout this build. We had the car put back together around 10pm last night (no pics due to dark).....

I wish I could put into words what it feels like to have this car 98% finished. My buddy down in ohio is going to help me touch up a couple small chips in the paint and do a wetsand/buff/paint correction on it when I get down there and then I just have to install the rub strips on the doors and quarterpanels. The reason the car isn't 100% done is I still have to repair a set of RS sideskirts (OEM) and then mold them and install them, and I want to do some type of tasteful pair of vents in the hood. Otherwise, I'm DONE!

I never thought I'd say it's done.....but it's done. What a relief. I'll have some fresh pics of the completed car probably monday or tuesday from the event I'm attending with the car.

Thanks to everyone for following along in this journey, your support and encouragement got me through a lot of stressful times when I just wanted to call it quits and burn the project to the ground. I very honestly probably couldn't have done it without you all cheering me on.

Thanks to anyone who I've forgotten to mention for various helping hands, parts, and any other way someone has helped. I look forward to just DRIVING and enjoying the car.

I'm sure I'll continue to change or adjust minor details of the car, for which I'll continue to update here as that happens, so stay tuned!
