I think there are so many options here that you really have to know what you want.

Borla uses 2.25 pipe into 2.5 muffler w/ same passenger out as the OEM.

FSWERK offer many options too. Plus they have several sedan pieces you can buy to piece an exhaust together.

Dynomax has drone free mufflers that you can build a custom exhaust with.

The options are limitless, you just have to know what you want. Also have money to burn if you make a mistake.

Steeda says they offer an exhaust but it is a Magnaflow.

Good luck.

Paul... Thanks for all that info... I'm pretty active on here and already have my mods planned out for the most part. It was just a pie in the sky, epiphany idea I had and wanted to run it by some of the guys here. I wasn't thinking of it for real per se...

I was watching your video last night. I do like your exhaust. My only real wish was that a dual outlet exhaust would be more readily available. But... It can be had with the right parts.

I don't quite understand everyone's desire for a dual outlet exhaust. All you're doing is adding weight. If you're making an exhaust for your car, I would imagine it is for "performance" reasons, and nominal as they may be, and adding weight just cancels out any benefits you may get from the new exhaust.

Our exhaust setup is fairly simple. The guys at my shop made me a full cat-back exhaust in something like an hour, hour and a half. That's pretty nice considering we bent it using only the old pipes as a template. Plus, as you can see in the difference between my exhaust videos and Redfocz's exhaust videos, you even have options as where to place the muffler. So that gives you even more options when it comes to what muffler you can use.

What I really had in mind with my question was... Taking the last section (muffler and tips) off of a say 2011 STi and just having new tubing fab'd up from there to the cat...

Why'd you choose BaconZombie as your handle? Why did I put green stripes on? All personal preference. I think the rear end needs more and that would really make it look better IMO.

look for an OEM Mazda rear muffler... or a camaro (I think) muffler.

or go side exit haha. I saved probably 5 feet of tubing and the weight associated with it.
