Hmm, what about trying paint protection film on it? I'd be afraid of peeling it off though and removing this paint they used; seriously Ford, PAINT?

I guess this is assuming the button labels are slightly raised or recessed. But after I think about it - maybe the label is just sprayed on flush. Still might work though...

Take the crayon and color the button. Then use a cloth, paper towel, whatever, and wipe off the excess. If the label is recessed (even just a little teensy tiny bit), the color will stay in the groves when wiping off the color on the button face. Even if the markings are raised vs. recessed this still works, you just have to be more careful wiping off the excess.

This is happening on my 2010 on the media buttons. I thought it was because it was a rental car before I bought it. Oh well...

and WTF with the white crayon? How does that help? It isn't recessed and even then light will shine through WHITE... I is Confuzzled.

Except I need black color.

Does anyone think using exterior touchup paint (universal black color) would do just fine? Either with the pen tip or brush applicator.

I think I've decided to just get some of those cut to shape screen protectors like I use on my digital camera and phone for it. I'll let you guys know how it goes, I've been busy and haven't had a chance to do.

My '09 is wearing off too, and this drives me crazy! I go between trying to ignore it and knowing I'm not steady enough to paint this with nail polish.
