Deleted rear heat ducts from S
Rear drum brakes still standard on S and SE
SYNC, Cruise control, dual illuminated vanity mirrors and 6 speaker audio now standard on SE
Reverse sensing system now available on SE
SE appearance package includes rear disc brakes, standard on Titanium
Ambient lighting now available on SE in appearance package
Sony audio with MyFord Touch w/ DATC now available on SE
SE Black Pack now available (hatchback only)(black wheels (previous SE Sport), black fog lamp bezels, piano black grille, black mirror caps, black spoiler, no mention of black headlamps)
Rear view camera decoupled from Parking Assist, camera standard on Titanium
Remote start standard on Automatic Titanium
No mention of auto dimming mirror, rain sensing wipers, or universal garage door opener for 2013 Focus
Wheel/rim for standard Titanium has been replaced with SEL premium package rim, SE comes with standard previous SEL rim, all other rims the same as 2012
Performance Blue and Ruby Red replace Sonic Blue and Red Candy. No more Yellow Blaze.
Well it's nice to see that Cruise is now STANDARD on the SE model (and upper trim levels)... Maybe Ford is getting smarter about trim levels and what is considered "normal." I can understand that the "S" model doesn't come with Cruise, but thank God the SE and everything above it does standard for 2013. I personally also wasn't terribly impressed to get an SEL model (2012) simply because it was sort of the step in between the Titanium and an SE (obviously). The only real advantage that I saw with the SEL was the dual climate control, but I wasn't willing to pay an extra $1500-2000 to get it, plus I like having the coin tray in the console by the gear shifter (the SEL apparently doesn't have this because the parking brake is moved up a few inches). I will say that I do see a lot of SELs out on the road, though (SEs and SELs mainly--- haven't seen too many Titaniums).

Any word on if they'll release a Focus with the 1.4 L (?) Eco-Boost engine...?? I know they were talking about it, and I think it would be a great idea... that or release a TDi model, like they have in Europe.

Yes, and the Mustang V6 performance package was replaced by the Boss 302.

I'm currently driving a C-Max with the 1.6 ecoboost (150hp) and a six speed manual, It's an awesome combination. The ecoboost makes a lot more torque than the 2.0 GDI at around 2k rpms, but runs out of breath above 5k. I'm averaging almost 30mpgs in the 7 passenger C-Max, driving it the same as my Focus that averages 26mpgs.

I'm happy with this since my 17" SEL premium wheels are now Ti standard - I may be mistaken for a Ti as time goes on and people forget the SEL ever existed.

This is also good for folks just looking for a base SE with cruise and 16" alloys now standard.

But this is terrible for the SE Sport folks - can't get rear discs and spoiler without leather and a bunch of other stuff in the Appearance package.

I couldn't agree more. I am so glad I bought a 2012.

I do think the "Black" appearance package is a good idea, but it isn't complete without the black Ti headlamps.

If the the black package for the Focus is anything like the Fiesta, I would think black headlamps will be included. I suppose time will tell.

+1

I don't want leather (and more importantly, I don't want to pay for it) and ambient lighting. The fact that the Appearance Pack comes with these two things plus 17" wheels (vs. 16") means it will probably come in at a significantly higher price than the SE Sport Package, even before you opt for the Black Pack.

About the headlamps, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up seeing the Ti headlamps included in the Black Pack. It seems like a strange omission and may just be missing from the literature.

While I wouldn't say that the ST is "replacing" the SE Sport, it may be that Ford is less inclined to keep it in the lineup because of other sporty offerings.

Ford's own press release confirmed that both the SE Sport Package and Titanium Handling Package were targeted towards the enthusiast market. Many folks saw the SE Sport as Ford's way of throwing a bone to enthusiasts who liked to row their own. Of course, now that the Titanium is offered in MT, not to mention the ST, there is no longer that need.

Also, it could be that this is all part of creeping the Focus a bit more upmarket. When I priced my SE Sport I also priced a Fiesta SES for comparison (just out of curiosity) and the price was nearly equal. The loaded Fiesta had a few more goodies, but I still wondered why anyone would choose that car over a Focus SE Sport. Maybe Ford is trying to widen the price gap?

That was my thought too, and I hope that's the case. It would be a big mistake by Ford to omit the headlamps from the black package.
