At this point, why have different trims at all? You can get almost everything that comes on a Titanium on an SE, save for the parking tech, rearview camera, etc. They might as well just bundle all of that stuff into a "Premium Package" and call it a day.

If you want it on the SE as an factory invoiced option, it will be the same "add on" as it was for 2012 with the seperate key fob.
I know my moms Edge has that same fob from factory, no shot I can go to my dealer and get the same fob added to mine then?

Good point especially if they have discontinued the rain sensing wipers, universal garage door opener, and auto dimming mirror. Could be a mistake they left it out I suppose, although the rain sensing wipers work terrible in this car.

Othen than small trim differences like the chrome belt molding, chrome register surrounds, painted center stack, global 1 touch up/down windows, IA key and different rim selection, the trim lines are getting too similar. Now you can get dual illuminated mirrors, leather, etc. on the SE which use to be SEL and Titanium exclusive.

Nope, that's the factory integrated system, which if you have a 2012 with remote start it was a "factory invoiced" add-on system which was dealer installed upon delivery which requires the seperate one-button key fob.

What exactly are the "register surrounds?" I know supposedly the SE Sport had different register surrounds than the stock SE, but I could never figure out what they were supposed to be. The only interior trim change I noticed was the door pulls.

Chrome trim around the left and right instrument panel vents.

Good catch, as I did not see that. I feel stupid!

On the Fiesta, Focus, and Fusion, they are reducing trim lines as part of Ford's Good-Better-Best scheme. The idea is that these cars come only as an S, SE, and Titanium. On the Focus, the SE takes the place of itself, as well as the SEL. This is why you can equip the SE to have much of the equipment (standard and optional) of the '12 SEL. Also, Ford is relying more on option packages and reducing freestanding options to achieve their goals. I could be wrong, but that is my perception.

Why the Taurus, Escape, Flex, Explorer, Edge, F-Series, and other Ford products do not follow this scheme, I do not know. I would understand (for instance) why the Mustang has their own trim lines. Ford should reduce and rename the trim lines for the rest of the models (except Mustang) to align with their Fiesta, Focus, and Fusion.

So am I interpreting correctly that in order to get fog lights and the 60/40 rear seat in an SE 5-door you'll now have to get the appearance package? Or is it possible that only applies to sedans? Like others in this thread, I'd probably rather avoid 17 inch wheels if possible.

Hmmm. I thought I'd be better off waiting until 2013s started rolling out, but now I'm wondering if I should just jump on a 2012 SE 5-door with the sport and winter packages before its too late. Looking forward to seeing pricing info on the 2013s to help me figure it out; hoping it's not too long of a wait.
