Talking FSWERKS race header for my D23 PZEV? (Questions/tune)

I've read the basic bolt on's thread, but it didn't help much with my questions.

I want to put the race header from FSWERKS onto my 2.3l, I know I need a new flex pipe and cat, along with a o2 sensor cheat for CT emissions.

My questions are, why do I need the o2 sensor cheat and why does the header only have one bung hole on it, When there are three o2 sensors for this PZEV model?

Also, is this header going to fail visual inspections? If so is there a trick to it? Maybe a heat shield? Or do I need to wrap it anyways for heat?

And what is involved in the tune? I have the OE Exedy fly/clt kit, with the Weapon R intake, and the exhaust done in 2.5 diameter trubenz piping from the cat under the car, back.

Thanks, Hopefully Tom can stop by for the Tune questions, since I would probably buy it from him.

Or what's up with these OBX race headers that I see? They cost about half the price of the FSWERKS one, and I can count atleast 2 o2 sensor holes?

Which makes more power is a factor for me, in that sense, how's the Weapon R header too? Anybody use it?

Hey I dont have the fswerks or the obx but they r the same primaries size if I was u I would buy the obx but is ur call and about the o2 bungs there is only one cause u will need to diactivate. The other 2 with a tune and the o2 sensor cheater is because u take one o2 sensor out off the cat so the cheater make the ecu think the cat is still there

im running the obx header, the extended bung needs to be cut off and welded straight to bottom of bung, 1 bung for 02 sensor other for wideband, top bung isnt need with tune, that ones plugged into collector at bottom. had mine for a few months now, great shape still, unwrapped, looks good, the hangar brackets are ueless as well, i cut em off

IMO the Fwerk's header is the best.

2 to monitor the before & after the convter.

Or do I need to wrap it anyways for heat? You could wrap it, but a official knowing what to look for, a header can't hide. The best flowing oem manifold/cat= a 23 ST manifold
If your inspector's know what to look for= yes it will fail then.

A tune will help out= turn off the rear o2 senser & egr, etc. A tune really helps out = makes your car more drivably, smoother.

I run a Fwerk's header & tune w/ rear o2 senser & egr delete. The oem 23ST manifold/cat is the best flowing oem manifold. If you inspection= opening the hood, a header can't run & hide.

I am installing a turbo next week so my fsw header will be up forsale when it comes off. I had a second bung welded into the setup. had it put in the flex protion. Have my wideband in there. Its only a about 2 years old. FSW header is the way to go IMO if you want the best header for the 2.3. Its a copy of the cossie. I was impressed with it. but its turbo time lol

i run OBX header with 1 O2 and Need to get Wideband O2 Sensor for acurate reading. Per Turbo Toms advice. The tune will turn off O2s you do not use.

^ Yes, if tom tunes it for you he always turns the second o2 sensor off. You can turn your pzev to a non pzev by deleting all that stuff. by getting a tune they can clear them all for you and make sure nothing else is wrong. Make sure you get a wideband.

Correct I can turn off the rear o2`s and EGR among other things for you in a tune and you get FREE tune updates as you add more NA mods

So which o2's get removed? The two that plug up on a bracket on the trans?

And Tom, do I need to get a wideband and knock gauges for you to tune it?
