Yeah, I added a thick washer too. Now that I look at it, it appears that the Mazda bolt actually tapers in, then back out at the threads, so the regular bolt would actually fill more of the bushing on the motor bracket. No worries then, and I'm not paying $9 for a bolt.

I agree with this guy!

I've follow his build thread, seems like a pretty epic car for minimal cash! I'm pretty sure that I would follow his lead if I wasn't looking to drop $1k on parts. I hear that he's going to dyno his car again this weekend to document the lunchbox delete...

And he is a super-nice guy that is really funny!

(He may be excessive with the smilies, though)

How well does the shoulder fill the mount opening? I seem to remember more space between the threads and the mount than that...

I'm going to pull mine apart (if I remember) this weekend to see if there is any wear. I did put a wide-area washer under it to disperse the torque across a greater area, and it actually appeared to fit really well.

I haven't heard any noise that would appear to be related to the RMM, so I'm sure it's ok. If there isn't any wear, I'll just set it and forget it.

After I posted it I thought 'Seriously? Why would I do that?'.

But yes, I totally recommend it in the DCT. My shifts are very clean and crisp, and the car feels more responsive. The shifts used to feel like 'ugh'

No doubt. Not only did they take his air hose away from him today, I think they took his meds too.

Whoa, that shoulder is completely useless! Are you sure that they got you the right bolt?
