I can't believe I'm doing this.

I am going to Springfield PA Ford on Tuesday to drop ol'girl off to get the paint flake fix on the tail light housing.

I'm also going to go ahead and pre-order my Focus ST. It's going to cost me a shit ton, but I don't care--I can afford it financially and I can't stop thinking about it.

Don't worry... AXZD plan pricing has been officially announced as being available for the ST as of last week. It hasn't trickled down to everyone in Ford or the dealerships, but it is official.

Fair enough... I'd love to see the wagon available in the US as well. In fact, I might even be able to convince my wife to trade the Odyssey in on one if it was available.

My fully loaded ST is 30,320 on the Ford website; does that mean X will save me considerable money? I have X plan available because I'm part of the Disabled American Veterans group.

Probably. What do you mean by "on the Ford website" and "fully loaded ST"? X plan (which is probably what you'd be getting unless you are an employee or dealer), is significantly under MSRP as shown on the "Build and Price" function on Ford.com.

I don't know if it's appropriate to mention another forum by name, but there are a couple of very awesome threads on another ST specialty forum that have all the details on AXZD pricing and how it's calculated and all that.

To be fair as well however, at least we do get a hatchback. And it isn't like a sedan only available scenario. The hatchbacks move a lot of shit in them quite well, but a wagon is just old man like a boss.

I just found that other place; yes it looks to be about a $2500 savings. Takes it from 30k to 28k.

I will be using X-plan pin to get the ST when I order next week.

Now to just unload my freshly purchased 2012 SEL LOL--oh this is going to sting a bit.

Oh, and by fully loaded I should have specified. I am getting the ST3 package, Tangerine paint, and moonroof. It was like $30,320 according to the Ford Build & Price tool.

That's a good deal! But I wonder what the doc fee and/or other fees the dealer is charging? I only ask because I was able to negotiate a deal for the vehicle price to $100 over invoice, but then they hit me with their $699 dealer/doc fee. Going with X plan instead is going to save me over $500 because X plan limits their fees to only a doc fee of a maximum of $100 (no other "dealer fees" allowed). If your dealer is doing that crap, don't let them tell you your "invoice" price is the best deal.

There are so many production estimate numbers out there, but it's so hard to know which are correct. For example, what I heard directly from Ford folks involved in the ST (while I was in Key West for the commercial shoot) is that they're thinking 10000 to 12000 units the first year. I think that may be a bit optimistic for North America the first year. They have also officially stated that the ST is not a limited production vehicle and that they will build to demand. I suppose what that means is if you want one (and order one), they will build it and you will get it. Not sure what that means to dealer stock or how dealers choose to price and sell them, but saying they're "limited production" isn't going to fly if the customer is even the slightest bit informed.
