From what I understand other manufactures (FWerks and Steeda) test with the hood open and the fan in front of the car. This renders these results meaningless. I don't know anyone who drives with their hood removed to allow full flow of ambient air.
I did a little test when I dynoed my car. I have New Missions cold air with a K&N filter. With the cover on the air box I got 160HP with the air box cover off hood up it posted 162HP.

Do these intakes change the diameter of the MAF housing? If so, how do they expect us to recalculate our MAF scaling with out a tuning method?

The K&N intake uses the stock MAF housing.

Here's a good read on Horsepower and Torque for those that want to understand the relationship between the two, thanks again guys glad to see that they are working out great!

http://www.epi-eng.com/piston_engine...and_torque.htm

And a good article on dyno variables so you can see how they can alter horsepower ratings.

The intake uses the stock MAF sensor.

Just an update: I was getting 32 MPG with the stock intake. I got 35 MPG on this past fill up today. I only have 2000 miles on my car so it could be from the break in. Just sharing my info.

Was your hood up? That could have made the difference.

I would venture a guess that gas mileage would suffer, since you have to drive with the hood up to feel the extra 2HP!!

Sorry, I couldn't help myself...
